Final work

My name is Piper Scott I am a 28 year old Scottish fashion designer based in London. My work fucuses on colour and texture, with the aim to make lighthearted clothing that can be worn on a day-to-day basis. To achieve these goals, I take inspiration from crafts such as stained glass and sculpture. Extracting experimental colour pallets and generating samples focusing on texture. From there I play with archetypes and details using the samples. Resulting in experimental clothing that is grounded in reality.

Seriously unserious clothing to amplify the light-hearted aspects of life. Taking inspiration from the craft of stained glass, something that is almost always to be taken seriously. Then contrasting that by taking inspiration from depictions of animals in small sculptures (mostly ceramic). The animals often come across as charming. Both the stained glass and the animals communicate these contrasting emotions mainly by use of interesting colour choices, paired with uncommon textures. This has led to a deep exploration of colour and texture within the collection, ultimately resulting in a series of vibrant, unusual yet very wearable garments.
