Summary

Final work

I’m a final-year BA Fashion Pattern Cutting student at UAL, graduating in July 2025. My work focuses on structural innovation and transformation in garment design. I gained experience in AI and 3D technologies during a year-long internship at Style3D, and also interned at one of China’s largest garment export groups. I bring strong technical skills, adaptability, and a forward-thinking mindset to my practice.

Adaptive Metamorphosis explores the transformation of 2D flat patterns into complex 3D structures through folding, rotation, and inversion techniques. Each 3D pleats in the garment is developed from a single, continuous flat piece, maintaining the integrity of the 2D surface while achieving dynamic spatial forms.

The final designs emphasize intricate pleating and structured volumes, making the pieces sculptural rather than easily compressible. The collection features a bold primary palette of red, light blue, and grey, highlighting the complexity of the folded structures against solid-colored fabrics.
