# Project Description FLOW Pei Yang Summary Final work Pei Yang is a knit designer from China and currently based in London. She draws inspirations from traditional Asian culture and craftsmanship, using them as a foundation to create innovative designs. Through her expertise, she seeks to introduce fresh elements and breathe new life into traditional crafts. She primarily works with textiles, utilizing it as a medium to interact with other materials. She particularly leverages the healing potential of various crafts on individuals. College Chelsea College of Arts Course BA (Hons) Textile Design Graduation year 2023 "Flow" is an installation artwork composed of interactive functional fabrics, ceramic pot adorned with crocheted jackets, and a set of wearable sculptural garments. She explores the healing power of pottery through the language of knitting, drawing inspiration from personal experiences and the therapeutic process of learning pottery, she aims to convey her own journey of healing. The project experiments with the juxtaposition of knitting and pottery, apply elements such as lines, folds, repetition, and color. My concept is to use art to help people understand the healing power of handicrafts, encourage them to try handicrafts, and focus on their inner energy, spreading the awareness of handicrafts from different perspectives.
