Cigarettes have never been so cool.

Massive extraction of new raw materials is unnecessary when our planet is already overflowing with valuable waste. This project proves that even the most unpleasant trash can be transformed into something new. The raw material at the core of the project’s research and exploration is the fibers from cigarette filters.

Cigarette butts are the most littered item in the world. They contain plastic and toxins and are rarely disposed of properly, leading to severe environmental damage. Yet, their filters are made of cellulose acetate, a versatile material with high potential. Finding a way to recycle them wouldn’t just provide us with a new material, it’s also a crucial step toward a more sustainable future.
