# Project Description The Bundle of Sticks Nuha Dhorajiwala Summary Final work College School of Pre-Degree Studies Course Foundation Diploma in Art and Design Graduation year 2025 My project attempts to promote the concept of 'unity in diversity.' India is a country that consists of a plethora of religious and ethnic groups that are dissimilar but are still enmeshed within its multicultural fabric. The phrase ‘unity in diversity’ is popularly espoused in Indian politics to imply a feeling of oneness that the country strives to achieve. Through my project, I explore this concept and aim to highlight the fractures that exist within it. I reinterpreted traditional Indian silhouettes and fabric manipulation techniques to symbolise a need for a change in the current political climate. ‘The Bundle of Sticks’ underscores that there is strength in the union of different religions and groups in society. However, it also explores the religious tension and division in India. As an Indian Muslim, I use this project to voice my opinions whilst keeping an unbiased, open dialogue around my idea and the potential it has to become.
