Final work

I’ve grown up and lived in London my whole life appreciating the diverse scenes, which is what I feel inspires my creative direction as my art has evolved. I love making anything, from bed covers, sculptures to clothes, I love manipulating silhouettes with clothes, applying my unique perspective to my projects, usually capturing a paranormal feeling within my projects as I love to explore the ‘weird’.

As life has progressed I’ve felt a destruction within the world, exploring this idea further I began looking at decay within the world, focusing on both physical decay of the space around us from something as small as a brick over years, or an entire population over thousands of centuries, and the concept of decay from the mind, to the unseen. Within this project I aimed to present this idea of decay, finding a different world of which can been noticed within the final outcome, exploring this idea of parasitic consumption both on the figure, the clothes they wear, to the world around them. For the outcome I made a tailored bleached denim set for the main subject, playing with the time the fabric was bleached in order to create an affect of the black consuming the body, alongside embroidery on the jacket imitating vines climbing the figure, alongside this I created a 7 1/2 foot monster out of chicken wire and shredded bleached denim, as while the project was developing I found rather than creating a figure, I wanted to cultivate the space around them, allowing the viewer to feel within the image an apocalyptic space.
