Titled full English, my initial idea began with my experiences growing up in the UK, and my own cultural identity as a British person. Exploring the humorous stereotypes and the misconceptions of Britain, by creating muses that represent the clichéd stereotypes that surround living in the UK to develop a narrative. At the start of the assignment what led me to choose this topic was after discovering the photographer Patrick Dalton and his ‘Shit London’ book, I enjoyed the way that he represented London, with a slight humous dig a British culture and stereotypes. The book forces you to see what is hidden behind London’s cool landmarks and nice areas, the aspects of London that show a world of cheeky art, signs and intentionally funny things that surround us every day. This led me to consider what is hidden behind your average British person exploring how we all have multiple facades.
