Summary

Final work

I am a designer who uses fashion as a declaration, focusing on the dilemmas faced by contemporary women and seeking to create a poetic yet resilient sanctuary for them through my work. My creative language is distinct and vivid—I specialize in skillfully merging cold, hard handcrafted metal with soft, flowing textiles. Through this dialogue between strength and delicacy, I weave contemporary armor that is both powerful and tender.

My project is forged from my personal experience, gathering women who share the scars of being objectified while wearing tights. I reclaim these tights that intimate symbols of the gaze, and through innovation, sculpt them into independent armor. This act of transformation extends their lifespan and radically revalues them: from fragile, disposable objects into permanent emblems of collective resilience. More than clothing, this is an embodied form of protection and protest. It aims to dismantle objectification by forging a united community, restoring agency, and affirming our inherent worth. Together, we weave a new language and a fortress of fabric, celebrating our unbreakable strength.

From my eyes to gazing at the role of women in “lovestruck” and “Marriage”Chapter2 Marriage themed video

As my growing, there are specific expectations placed on women in terms of marriage within East Asian culture, which promoted the narration of Chapter 1. I felt a strong clash between Western and East Asian cultures, and marriage took on a different meaning. In China, marriages place more emphasis on the material and practical aspects of the partner. For most Chinese people, marriage is like a job interview – a rational and cautious process of weighing and choosing a partner. As I delve deeper into this chapter, I uncover the significant emphasis in East Asian cultural context on the training of female in marriages, such as being gentle, sensible, and forcing on family. Throughout the entire process, I shaped the societal labels for female in lovestruck and marriages based on this context. This strong contrast run deeply through my Chapter 1, expressing the contradictory state I find myself in as a female.

From my trail to looking back "My Marriage"

Chapter 2 is derived from my marriage with Australian girlfriend personal, an experience that awakened me to the brave pursuit of love, marriage, and even inner passions as women acting independently. Simultaneously, my design language has become more attuned to the emotional nuances of women's personal experiences.

“We met in May 2021, got married in December 2021, and begin

a Long-Distance Transnational Relationship in February 2022. ”

I prefer to think of chapter 2 as a real-life performance artwork. During the preliminary research phase, I continuously monitor and document our changes with 24-hour uninterrupted surveillance, capturing records and photos. My design process and post-production visual presentation have created a scenario for two-person living, integrated with garments, visualizing the impact of this relationship through the traces of paint left by my actions. The entire experience feels like a dream to me. Many things might have faded away from life, but but the imprints remain on the soul.
