# Project Description STARS IN THE DARK Mossy Mcdermott Summary Final work I am a 22-year-old fashion photographer born in Manchester. I started my photography career by shooting the UK underground rap scene and the events, documenting the fashion as well as the energy from the shows. Now, I have moved my practice more into the studio, where I focus on the main themes of texture and physicality in my work. I create all the sets myself and I love hand printing out my images to then manipulate by hand with paints and bleach etc. I focus a lot on the process of making a fashion image and love the hands-on approach which is shown in my work. The project is focused on the texture and physicality of an image and creating an atmosphere. I have created all the sets by painting on Polly boards, using concrete on them or buying fabrics, using a mix of colours and materials. I have also done all the styling myself as I wanted to be part of and in control of every aspect of the project, the styling is also a representation of me, the clothes I like to wear and what I like working with. Stars in the Dark wasn't just finished after the shoot though I wanted to add a layer of texture and physicality to the work so I ink jet printed my images on different types of papers and then using chemicals, paints bleach etc I manipulated the images inc certain ways also using ripes and tears to create interesting fashion imagery.
