Fashion design and development graduate that focuses on non permanent body art and modifications ... College London College of Fashion Course BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Development Graduation year 2025 This project focuses entirely on self-expression -particularly focusing on the use of body modifications as a form of individuality. Looking specifically at the societal pressures on women to contort their bodies to conform to humanity's expectations. Throughout the years, woman have been expected to modify their bodies to be more ‘appealing’, whether it's plastic surgery, selfmutilation, or corsetry to change bone structure. Rarely do women feel comfortable enough to modify their bodies in the way they desire, limiting their freedom of self-expression. Throughout this project, I plan to challenge societal norms and give women a way to freely express themselves without permanently affecting their bodies. People modify their bodies for a plethora of reasons whether it's just because they think it looks good or because they are reclaiming their body as their own. As women, it is important to reclaim our bodies and alter them in any way we would like to.
