I’m Megan Parker, a documentary photographer from Southampton. I began photography during the pandemic, drawn to quiet rural landscapes amid the chaos. Since then, my practice has evolved to focus on storytelling that centres people and their lived experiences—advocating for voices often unheard and celebrating human presence through honest, empathetic imagery.

On international Women's Day I attended the annual Million Women Rise march in London as part of my research for my ongoing Social Justice Campaign: The Places We Fear, which aims to raise awareness on gendered violence in public spaces in my local city. This is a portrait series I created while I was there to document the activism and spirit of collective resistance. The portraits were taken with care and consent, and many participants expressed a desire to be part of a visual archive that amplifies the fight against gendered violence. While the march lasts only a day, its impact resonates far beyond. These images act as a record of presence and solidarity—proof of a movement too often overlooked.
