Driven By Culture : Martina Lebron’s Jeepney Set
In a striking fusion between street culture and luxury fashion, Martina Lebron’s latest hand-painted collection reimagines Filipino identity through a fashion-forward lens. At the heart of this project are a pair of leather boots and a vintage Louis Vuitton Speedy bag - canvases that carry more than just graphics, but stories.
Inspired by the chaos of the Jeepney—an iconic symbol of Filipino resilience and ingenuity, each piece becomes a moving tribute to cultural adaptation and street-born creativity. Only in the Philippines does Mother Mary, Lebron James, Hello Kitty, Looney Tunes and Zodiac signs beside each other make sense. This unlikely cast of characters becomes a powerful reflection of the layered, mixed influences that define Filipino identity.
Martina Lebron uses fashion as a stage for cultural storytelling. Her work bridges heritage and modernity, offering a fresh, unapologetic way to express the complexities of being Filipino. It’s edgy, it’s chic, and above all, it’s proud.
Because being Filipino isn't about fitting into a single narrative, it's about owning the mix.
