Hair and makeup have always fascinated me because it is not just how people look, but how hair and makeup, makes people feel. Hair and makeup can transform people you can create characters, atmospheres and reflects cultures.

As I have grown up in a country town (not far from the beach), but studied in the city, I noticed beauty and creativity are approached differently in small towns compared to cities. The mindset of these are different. I noticed also that in a small town, priority was given more to the self, and the local area. In a less diverse community, I felt people judge you more. By this I mean, if you present more creatively, with your hair, makeup or clothes, people found it harder to understand. Whereas, in the city, where there are so many people expressing themselves creatively in a huge setting, this creativity with hair, makeup and fashion, is more accepted and less judged because a city has more experience of diversity, artistically and culturally compared to a small country town.. my project explores this including elements of London City and a new character of yourself you can create and the small town in countryside I grew up in.
