The Comfort of Decomposition

Marceline Sette

Summary

Final work

Following a Foundation Year in Fine Art, I will progress on to BA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts. My work spans multiple disciplines: I aim to continue exploring not just physical sculpture but also photography, performance, and filmmaking. Currently, I am interested in the natural world, blending this with sculpture to create ephemeral pieces that integrate with the human body.

I am interested in exploring the interconnectedness between the natural world and the human form, using physical and material interactions with nature. I experimented with the ephemerality of sculpture, creating a blanket completely out of natural materials and documenting its decay. I aim to question our place in the ever-changing cycles of nature, creating a temporary piece that will be broken down back into the earth.
