# Project Description Fangirl Mums Luyue Wang Summary Final work I’m a visual storyteller based in London. My work explores visual media, interaction, installation, and narrative. In September 2025, I will begin my MA in Information Experience Design at the Royal College of Art to further explore the connection between technology, perception, and storytelling. College London College of Communication Course BA (Hons) Illustration and Visual Media Graduation year 2025 “Fangirl Mums” was my final project in the third year of my undergraduate studies and also my first attempt at constructing a complete narrative using 3D storytelling. Inspired by my mother, I observed her behavior as a middle-aged woman engaging in fan culture and expanded this phenomenon to explore broader social and emotional contexts. It was the first time I used 3D modeling, animation and visual language as my primary tools of expression. This was not just a formal experiment but a turning point in how I approach storytelling. I began to consider how space, lighting and rhythm could convey a character’s inner emotions, and how a viewer’s first visual impression might shape their understanding of the narrative. Final work Fangirl Mums Three years ago, she became a fan. A mum, a wife, a woman, a girl — a quiet soul yearning to be seen. What she truly chased was the self she left behind.
