# Project Description MODERN ENGLAND presents LIKE-MINDED-REBELS Lonni Omarii Hibbert-Gordon Summary Final work I'm a London-based Graphic Design graduate with a strong passion for the creative industries - Digital Graphic Design, Fashion and Music. I love the ability to share my interest, raise awareness and explore new topics through through digital mediums - web design, motion design, computation and 2D /3D designs . You should know Don Letts, The Clash, The Slits, Dennis Bovell, The Ruts, Poly Styrene, Linton Kwesi Johnson. These figures were involved in the iconic British Punk-Rock Era and they fused Punk-Rock with the rebellious Reggae attitude and sounds. MODERN ENGLAND is a platform that aims to celebrate Englands multi-cultural identity through making projects that highlight diversity within English culture - present and past. LIKE-MINDED-REBELS which is a project presented by MODERN ENGLAND that, highlights some key figures that were a part of the Reggae-Punk fusion and created diversity within this music genre. The aim of this project is to explore and celebrate the fusion of Caribbean and British identities through the Reggae-Punk movement of 1970s Britain. The project sheds light on how Caribbean culture played a role in British Punk-Rock’s subculture, sound and style. Inspired by my own Caribbean-British heritage and rooted in diasporic theory, this research-led, design-driven website highlights influential figures like Don Letts, Dennis Bovell, and Poly Styrene. Using urban aesthetics, motion graphics, digital illustration, and video collage to create this website and posters I aim to appeal to a Gen Z audience (ages 18–28). This project reclaims Punk culture as a multicultural space and invites Gen Z to find pride in their layered identities. Moving forward in my creative career, I’d like to continue exploring and documenting diasporic experiences and subcultures. In my practice, I often reference music to understand and connect with these cultures and then use digital design (motion design, digital illustrations (2D &3D) and web design) to visualise these experiences/ stories.
