My final major project has explored the contrast between 1920s glamour and gothic horror. Inspired by vintage fashion, my embroidery designs combine delicate craftsmanship with darker themes and revives vintage styles through a modern, atmospheric lens lens. With a mixed media approach to my work, my collection blends opulence and edge, drawing from various historical references and reimaining them through a contemporary perspective.

Final work

'Tweed' inspired embroidered samples in pink, blue and green captured together
A girl stood wearing a black helter top and a pink skirt with black chiffon appliquéd in a lattice pattern.
A purse with intricate green stitching, with items such as a makeup brush, necklace, lipstick, earrings and a polaroid picture spilling out.
A girl stood facing away with a pale blue embroidered puff sleeve, holding up a large boquet of flowers, with silk draped in the background.
