I believe in a more analogue way of working - having completed a foundation diploma in art & design at the Royal Drawing School, I always find myself returning to hand drawing. I grew up in Jersey & Singapore, so have cultivated a unique perspective on the built environment's role in society, and on one's wellbeing. I believe that humanity is growing ever more disconnected from the earth, and every project throughout my degree has aimed to reconnect its users with nature.

With 35% of Eel Pie Island’s population being over the age of 60, a notoriously lonely stage of life, I wanted to devise a way to unify all of its users in a way that was both physically and psychologically beneficial. Through my intervention, I aim to bring all “Eelpilanders” and passing boat dwellers together through the activity of foraging, cooking, and latterly the collective enjoyment of the day’s findings. Each activity involves spending time outdoors, encourages movement and fosters social connection, all proven to improve both physical and mental health. Programatically facilitating the exchange of knowledge at each stage of use, and physically intriguing and surrealist in form, I believe it is aligned with the core beliefs of Eel pie island.
