"Probe" is a dental tool used to detect hidden decays in teeth. As teeth are measured against a standard, it often feels like society measures us against a standard of “excellence”, pushing everyone to conform. In trying to fit that mould, Jenny hid the parts of herself deemed unacceptable, while slowly losing the contours of who she truly was. This project photographs individuals who embrace their so-called flaws, confronting silent gaze and reclaiming identity. Through acts of self-healing and defiant joy, the project invites viewers to redefine “flaws” and find strength in all their varied characteristics.
