all my things

Leah Cantillon

Across my work - whether collage, video, or photoshoots - my focus is on combining various visual motifs to preserve memory, convey emotion and to tell a story. My collages are made physically, curating images and objects into new narratives before scanning them in. In an ever growing technological landscape, it is important to acknowledge the tangible things around us and the ways in which we preserve memory and tell stories passively without realising; the objects and things that represent us and tell stories about who we are. I created "all my things" in our Creative Enquiry unit, in which I explored the best ways we can preserve memory, particularly focusing on tangible objects. This project is about the passive and everyday objects in our lives - the things we choose to keep, how we choose to decorate ourselves & our objects, and what this says about our individual character and stories of our lives.
