As part of my final design project, I created a therapeutic conversation-based block game designed specifically for orphans in Iraq. This interactive tool encourages emotional expression, storytelling, and connection through play. Inspired by child-centred therapy principles and cultural heritage, the game helps children navigate trauma while fostering resilience and confidence.
This project was developed in collaboration with Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation, whose incredible work and access to the Hikayati building and orphaned children provided crucial insight and real-world grounding. My visits to Al-Ayn’s facilities in Iraq, including Dar Al-Zahra Charitable School, allowed me to observe, engage, and co-create with the children themselves, ensuring the design was meaningful, contextually sensitive, and impactful. Grateful for their guidance and partnership, this project would not have been possible without their trust and support.
