My project's theme is based on texture and delicacy seen within nature and throughout the project I researched artists and designers that related to nature within interior spaces paying attention to the colour palette used, form, materials, and shapes. After drawing, painting and photographing nature, I responded to the artists techniques by combining the way they work with the nature I had recorded, which made sure my outcome was a direct reflection of the exploration I had done during this project.

I chose to convert my site, Hawley Lock, Camden, from a rooftop office space to a wellness centre and I specifically designed an indoor garden within the space with the aim of creating a place to relax and rejuvenate, contrasting to Camden’s busy environment. Acrylic, cardboard, wire, and synthetic grass was used to create my outcome.

Final work

An indoor garden with petal-like structure that tower over the grass and tree covered garden leaving an opening at the top for the sunlight to enter.

Final outcome

Showing the use of the garden: People sitting on stone-like seating; someone stretching; and individual touching with the water and someone gardening.

Final visualisation

Research and process

These are the artists work that inspired my final outcome from materials, colours and forms.

Inspiration

This is the processes I went through to design my work from deciding the colours on 3d software to the physical creation of my piece.
