Rooted in the desire to protect fading traditional crafts, this project explores architecture as a vessel for cultural preservation. Inspired by my travels in India, and informed by references of ancient temples, I designed a space that reflects India’s vernacular forms and materials. The final model combines materials that represent natural elements such as clay, stone, and wood. Each structure within the space is shaped to serve artisans and visitors alike—preserving skill, memory, and architectural legacy, A Haven.

Final work

  • Top view of the model showing a symmetrical layout of wooden and clay structures on a textured brown base.
  • Front view of the model, white clay builds with temple like wooden roofing and pillars.
  • Frontal view of an architectural model featuring textured earthen walls, wooden roof structures, and layered platforms representing terrain.
Interior perspective view from within the architectural model, capturing natural light streaming across textured clay walls and casting soft shadows.
  • Topographic site model made from layered cork sheets and green base material, representing a river or creek winding around an elevated landform.
  • Conceptual architectural model constructed on a gridded MDF base with etched triangular patterns.
