Kayuk CHENG

Summary

Final work

Kayuk Cheng is a textile designer specializing in woven fabrics for both fashion and interior design. With over three years of experience in fashion print and industry practice, she brings a thoughtful approach to blending print and weave, resulting in expressive jacquard textiles. Her creative process draws from personal experiences and a deep curiosity about the relationship between people and their environments. Inspired by everyday surroundings, themes often evolves into tactile explorations of space, memory, and material. She favors natural fibers for example silk, wool, and cotton, for their texture, versatility, skin-friendly and connection to tradition. Balancing craftsmanship with concept, the aim is to create textiles that are both functional and emotionally resonant. Whether developing pieces for exhibitions, fashion collections, or interior projects, collaboration and storytelling remain at the heart of the work.

Graduation year 2025

This is a textile weave design project created for the home interior and soft furnishing market.

project Inspired by my experience of living alone, it explores how everyday clutter and disorganization can affect our sense of comfort and space. Through the process of reorganizing my home, I rediscovered forgotten items and translated them into woven fabric patterns.

More than just tidying up, this project rethinks how we store, sort, and simplify. It offers practical, design-led solutions for creating calmer, more functional living spaces — and aims to inspire those with similar lifestyles to do the same.
