Final question: How can Applied games improve children's awareness of the mental illness and their relationships within the family?
The 'Hugs Game' project is an applied game in art therapy that uses an offline cooperative card game to teach children aged 6-8 about depression. The principles of 'Hugs Game' are to incorporate knowledge of depression into the game, games that also include intimacy-enhancing talk activities and psychiatrist-recommended mood-relieving actions. The 'Hugs Game' raises children's awareness of the mental illness and their relationships within the family.
The number of people suffering from depression has been increasing in recent years, but the consultation rate for this illness is shallow, at only 8%. Therefore, try to use games to advance understanding of the illness and reduce the stigma attached to it to increase consultation rates.
Psychologist Carl Rogers says that the self-concept comprises three distinct parts the ideal self, self-image, and self-esteem, and these parts must remain relatively balanced to have a stable self. The spiritual world is inherently fragile, so we need to pay more attention to it instead, we are ashamed of spiritual issues.
The audience for 'Hugs Game' are families with children aged 6-8. For children, a melancholy mood can occur as early as age eight, and if they are made aware of it before, they will not feel overwhelmed when they experience it. It is also essential for family members to be aware of depression as many cases of depression are due to damage caused by the family of origin. Making family members more aware of this can provide a better family environment to offer help when appropriate.
