# Project Description La Flâneuse Julia Treplin-Hawkins Summary Final work I am most intrigued by the larger topic of 'Women' and enjoy exploring it from different angles and highlighting the problems women are regularly faced with, I also love incorporating different aesthetics into my work often inspired by the mid 20th century film, media and fashion. College School of Pre-Degree Studies Course UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design Graduation year 2025 My project assesses the skewed fantasies created by the male gaze and how that can often lead to endangering women. I am trying to bring attention to some of the issues women are confronted with in public spaces daily, as well as experimenting with establishing the POV of a man at the start of the film. I also explored filming techniques, colour grading and aesthetics used by John-Luc Godard and other filmmakers of the 1950s and 60s, which I attempted to recreate in my film. Final work La Flâneuse (FMP 2025) Final film outcome for the Final Major Project. Costume I sewed this dress as a costume for my independent short film exploring issues with male gaze. I created the pattern, toile and then the final dress.
