AsiHer is a speculative app that critiques how short-video algorithms misinterpret East Asian female humor. While this humor relies on cultural nuance, emotional contrast and in-group storytelling, platform moderation often classifies it as low-value or non-humorous, limiting visibility and recommendation. AsiHer analyses user-generated videos through cultural dimensions and produces a visual humor report that reveals how algorithmic systems translate meaning. It also supports creators with structured appeal templates to communicate with platforms. The project reframes humor as a space of identity, resilience and digital equity for marginalized communities.
