My practice engages with Chinese traditional culture

and Eastern philosophy, employing metalwork and

woodworking as core mediums to examine spatial

articulation and perceptual dimensions. With a focus

on the intersection of social life and individual

experience, the work seeks to explore the infinite

possibilities within minimalist forms.

This project explores how wearable artefacts can frame the body and reconfigure personal space. Drawing on Chinese literati aesthetics, particularly garden windows and folding screens, the work translates architectural principles into forms worn on the body. By framing often-overlooked areas such as the back, shoulders, arms, and wrists, the artefacts create moments of pause, heightened bodily awareness, and spatial sensitivity.

The project proposes a mode of gentle rebellion. Rather than opposing pressure directly, the body subtly bends, shifts, and disrupts the frame itself. These wearable structures suggest protection, reflection, and inner retreat, offering a poetic response to contemporary social pressures.

The outcome is a series of fashion artefacts made from hard woods and brass. Through hand-cutting, joinery, metal riveting, and iterative body-fitting tests, the project develops wearable frames that respond to movement, touch, and embodied presence.
