“ALLERGONE PETOPIA” is a pair of invented words, crafted from four: Allergy and Gone, Pet and Utopia. Together, they describe an imagined paradise—free from allergies, full of joy, and inhabited by the animals a child once longed to touch.
This graduate collection was inspired by designer Jingming’s childhood struggle with severe allergies to animal fur and pollen. Unable to interact with the living things he loved, he turned to his sketchbook, using imagination and pencil to construct a world that belonged entirely to him.
In the Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, Jingming reawakens that inner world. He experiments with specially developed fabrics to capture the creases and distortions created when a child wears clothing meant for grown-ups, each fold a quiet reflection of innocence wrapped in displacement. Through silhouettes flipped upside down and garments turned inside out, he tells the story of children who haven't yet learned the difference between front and back, offering an honest and playful tribute to confusion, discovery, and unfiltered creativity.
Final work

BRUSHNEST
LOOK 1
This look represents the beginning of my journey — a moment in the studio where I started to create a world of my own. Due to my allergies, my parents didn’t allow me to interact with animals or flowers. So instead, I turned to drawing, using imagination and color to build the comforting world I couldn’t touch in real life.

HEARTLOCK
LOOK 2
In this stage of the story, I began to feel frustrated and withdrawn because of my allergies. I slowly locked myself away emotionally, no longer able to freely interact with the outside world. My only way of connecting with animals was through non-allergenic toys — smooth balloons, plastic figures — always from behind a pane of glass.

LOOK 3
As I delved deeper into my drawings, my heart began to soften. Even the hardest parts of me slowly started to find joy.

PETOPIAN
LOOK 4
At the story’s end, I successfully created my own utopia — a world where I can live happily alongside the beloved animals I longed for.
