EVERYWHERE AND NOWHERE is a surreal fashion photography project that explores the tension between identity, choice, and emotional disorientation. It visually interprets the feeling of being pulled in multiple directions, both culturally and personally—of being present everywhere yet belonging nowhere.

Divided into four photographic series, the project navigates internal struggles through symbolic props, costume design, and dream-like scenarios. Influenced by Surrealism, the work uses tools such as obscured vision, entanglement, mirrors, and delicate fabrics to express the anxiety and ambiguity tied to growing up between cultures.

As a Chinese artist raised in Portugal and now living in the UK, I reflect on the invisible weight of choices and the fragmented self that often emerges from navigating multiple identities. This Showcase invites the viewer into a liminal space—unsettling, tender, and searching.

Final work

Model entangled in white web-like fabric, arms stretched upward, black background.
Model pulling white cotton across body, intense gaze, dramatic shadows.
Gray to red gradient background, fruit placed on body parts, symbolizing heavy pressure.
A standing woman wrapped in cotton fibres, frozen in stillness—capturing a quiet moment of hesitation before transformation begins.
