This project is a desktop documentary that reflects on how forensic aesthetics can be reimagined through situated and non-Western perspectives. Through a dialogue between histories of reproductive control in Greenland and China, it explores how power shapes and disciplines women’s bodies across different political and cultural contexts. Narrated from the position of a post-2000 Chinese male researcher, the film turns the act of investigation into a form of self-forensics—revealing how the investigator is also implicated in systems of seeing and knowing. Rather than speaking for others, it seeks to amplify existing voices and question how imaginaries of China emerge within Greenland’s path toward independence.
