College London College of Communication Course BA (Hons) Photography Graduation year 2025 Fuelled by the gender rift within car culture and channelled through a dystopian lens, ‘Dawn of the Mechanical Revolution’ reimagines the car and all it is associated with. Inspired by anthropomorphic design, this project explores the experience of unseen women within car culture by going beyond the restrictive four corners of an image. The plaster shell reflects the fraudulent way a girl can be made to feel in the car world, whilst imagining a reality where cars exist free from the bounds of their purpose. The work invites further speculation on the operation and consequences of such a reality.
