Run by Hannah Kelly, Littlebookofdoodles is a small, self-employed art business specialising in ceramics and light art based in the North East of England. Hannah has been self-employed for just over a year. During that time, she has had ceramic planter labels stocked in not just a shop, taken part frequently in art markets, and is currently working on a large-scale light art project called Travelling Tales. Which will be travelling to different locations across Durham between November 2024 to the end of February 2025.
Final work

Welcome Wanderer
'Welcome Wanderer' mixed media degree show installation piece (2023).
Mixed media installation: Wooden frames with ceramic tiles decorated using a mixture of glaze and melted glass. Fabric hanging print created from a series of scanned paintings collaged together. Screenprinted Venus fly trap prints on the window. Vinyl pink floor splat pattern. Multiple ceramic pieces are placed throughout the floor space around the work.
This piece was inspired by abstracting the every day, using sketches and sculpture to create the final installation.

Ceramic Garden Labels – Set of Four
Four ceramic garden labels: Thyme, Mint, Basil and Rosemary. Handmade in the North East of England using stoneware clay and assorted glazes. These pieces are wrapped in recyclable cardboard bubble wrap, reusable twine and packaged in plantable basil seed packaging. This makes the product sustainable and minimal waste to the environment due to the reusability of the packaging and the longevity of the labels with them being ceramic allowing them to be reused repeatedly. The Garden labels are currently stocked in Not Just A Shop online and in-store.

Handmade ceramic ghost baubles
Handmade ceramic ghost baubles, created as part of my new winter/Christmas range which is available now on my website.

Travelling Tales
Travelling Tales is a large-scale sculptural light art installation project which will be displayed across Durham from November 2024- February 2025. Pictured above is the maquette for the work which was created after taking part in Light up the North's Lightlab scheme, the project has since received funding to create the full-scale version. The work consists of 4 storybooks which will tell real and imagined stories of Durham with 100's of people across schools and community groups creating panels for the storybooks.
