The Unreliable Author

Grace Kelly

Profile picture of Grace Kelly

I am Grace Kelly, an artist based in London and Essex. I specialise in sculpture, film, music and photography. I explore themes regarding human nature: the beautiful, the mundane and the malicious. My creative process is driven by a curiosity about what it means to exist in contemporary society, and I often seek to blur the boundaries between the intimate and the universal.

My next step is completing a PGCE to teach fine art to post-16 students in London.

I engage with seizing control of language contained in letters of harassment, a process which led to the embodiment of the writer, taking authorship over messages of manipulation. I explore the notion of 'The Unreliable Author', where with limited context, we are compelled to accept what is said as truth, even as that truth remains uncertain. This tension between assumed truth and fragmented narrative becomes a site for reasserting power through reinterpretation.
