# Project Description RE:Bound Geun Ko Summary Final work College Central Saint Martins Course BA (Hons) Product and Industrial Design Graduation year 2025 This modular basketball shoe features interchangeable 3D-printed parts, allowing users to customize, repair, and extend its lifespan while promoting sustainability and reducing waste. This modular basketball shoe consists of seven interchangeable parts, allowing users to assemble, repair, and customize it themselves. Traditional shoes rely on adhesives, making repairs difficult and leading to excessive waste. This design extends the product’s lifespan while promoting sustainable consumption. Using 3D printing, the shoe adapts to both indoor and outdoor courts by swapping specific parts, reducing the need for multiple pairs. Additionally, damaged components can be sent back for replacement with improved, data-driven 3D-printed upgrades, ensuring a personalized fit over time. By engaging users in the shoe’s life cycle, this project raises awareness of its environmental impact. Instead of discarding worn-out shoes, users maintain and optimize them, fostering a responsible consumption mindset. This innovation combines sustainability, functionality, and user involvement, redefining the future of sports footwear.
