Profile picture of Gemma Tucker

As a graphic designer from a working-class background, I view design as a means to connect people and tell authentic, human stories. I primarily focus on print and enjoy collaborative processes to create meaningful outcomes that truly represent the voices of different communities. With a foundation in social justice, I am particularly drawn to projects that pose questions, challenge assumptions, and open up new perspectives.

COMMON. was a multidisciplinary exhibition curated to centre working-class artists within gallery spaces that have historically overlooked their voices. Featuring the work of ten artists, the exhibition critically and creatively examined class identity. Held at a gallery space in Peckham, COMMON. embraced the aesthetic of a traditional working-class café, using class-related slang and familiar visual elements to create an inviting environment. Complementary publications and welcome packs extended the exhibition’s experience beyond the gallery walls, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
