The project Harvested Realities explores the narrative of human exploration from the 19th century to the present, tracing the journey from Victorian natural curiosity to the 21st-century post-industrial exploitation of animals.
It draws inspiration from John Martin’s The Biblical Disaster paintings, inspired by the second book of the Bible, which depicts the end of the world and the rebirth of a new one.At its core, my work examines the shift from preservation to extinction of many species, and considers how these harmful effects could irrevocably alter our world.
Final work

“The Last Judgement” (1853)
The first painting The Last Judgement (1853), depicts God in judgement waiting to fight the forces of evil.
My work draws upon the Book of Revelation, whose religious narratives serve as metaphors that inform each of my paintings.I was inspired by the story of the Virgin of Guadalupe, whose apparitions of the Virgin Mary were believed to predict supernatural or natural events.
