The Dansemblage Project reconfigures furniture objects through an assemblage technique into compact, stair-like structures.
Each tier has the possibility to function as a chair, table, or shelf, depending on the user's needs.
The title combines dan (Korean for ‘step’) with assemblage, reflecting the European aesthetic technique layering form and collage.
Inspired by London’s vibrant flea markets and the global tradition of patchwork, the project addresses the growing concern of ‘fast furniture’, reinterpreting the frugality and sustainable ethos in a contemporary context.
Constructed entirely from a diverse range of reclaimed timber, each piece is handcrafted.
Dansemblage Project blurs the boundary between sculpture and furniture, offering a thoughtful exploration of sustainable design.
