This is the project for Final Major Project in BA Fashion Pattern Cutting Years 3 course. 

When I visiting the museum and observing those antiques, I felt that I was exploring the time period when they were created and communicating with the people from hundred year ago through the cracks and the faded colour. Although time is a complex concept, the experience made me think of what the trace of time looks like and how people can perceive the passage of time. In the project, I started my research from the growth of trees including the tree rings and tree engulfing with the objects. I did some experiments of fabric manipulation and dealing. Besides, time can be recorded ion one image by a technique called motion visualization create many layers for showing the motion. To further explore the subtopic of layers, I found an artist who worked with layers of paper which inspired my later experiment. I also looked at the pattern of cracks and reconnected the broken antiques and that leaded me to do more development in deconstruction.
