Things Matter CIC is a community space in North London that aims to combat the global textile waste crisis through turning local resources into community assets. The fashion industry is the second greatest polluting industry in the world, producing 92 million tonnes of textile waste globally per year. Without action, this waste problem is expected to increase by 50% in the next 5 years. Through powerful visual storytelling, Things Matter CIC aims to bring awareness to these negative effects through the use of film, photography and an interactive installation. By showcasing the many ways people can ethically engage with clothes in a fun and community-rooted way, the work aims to challenge common misconceptions of sustainable fashion.

As part of an ongoing video series, Things Matter CIC spotlights emerging designers and their practices — unfiltered, honest, and rooted in sustainability.
In each short episode, we sit down with creatives who are redefining what fashion can be. From upcycling techniques to personal philosophies, these conversations reveal the real work behind conscious design.
