Danrui Xue

The project reimagines the marriage vow as a crime scene — where love, control, and survival collide. This project examines how narratives of “female perpetrators” are socially and legally constructed, and how legal and humanitarian frameworks often fail to recognize the continuous coercion that leads to extreme retaliation. The outcome takes the form of an immersive forensic narrative installation, combining photography, video, and editorial design. The exhibition space resembles a crime investigation room, where viewers encounter three reconstructed domestic homicide cases inspired by real events.
