Geometry reflects the beauty and complexity of our environment, exploring the patterns and structures within the fragile landscape. Hypnosis is driven by geometry and fractals in nature and how we perceive it forms our identity. This collection adapts the invisible geometry and movement in nature to footwear. It is our aim to “get things to the stage” where customers experience themselves as being continually involved with the shoes and experience them as a social sculpture. Each shoe explores our relationship with the geometry of nature, movement, and the illusions it creates. Fractals are formed of geometric shapes that repeats themselves in a harmony in various sizes. There are some significant elements in the collection that includes fractals such as lab grown crystalline forms that used in heels, natural sliced Agate stone which has repetitive lines in its structure. The collection draws inspiration from Olafur Eliasson’s sculptures on geometry and movement which creates a sense of illusion when observed from different perspectives. Iris Van Herpen’s use of layers and repetition from “Sensory Seas” collection with sustainable futuristic and transparent materials was also a starting point of the project to create layering effects in footwear with experimental materials.
