# Project Description My Real World That Does Not Exist CHIEN-CHIEN CHIU Summary Final work A painting artist from Taiwan. College Camberwell College of Arts Course MA Fine Art: Painting Graduation year 2025 My worlds are nature but beyond nature. They are reality structured in natural scenery, but tinged with fantastic and dreamy colours like Xanadu. I am influenced by Vangogh’s landscape paintings featuring unique interpretations and intense colours. They make me curious about my own perspective on my inner world. For me, gazing into nature is my remedy for everything. They are tranquil but full of vibrancy at the same time. Therefore, I want my paintings to create the same atmosphere that makes people feel a sense of calm but also come along with vitality. Viewers are sincerely invited to enjoy the healing journey of my Xanadu. Final work Whispers of Serenity This body of work explores a tranquil yet vibrant atmosphere, inspired by memories from the Covid era—a time when I deeply longed for nature. During that period, I often found peace in rural landscapes, especially when standing before a vast meadows , feeling the breeze, and watching the grass flow gently in the wind. That simple scene became a source of healing for me, offering a sense of calm and emotional clarity. I wanted to translate that experience into my visual language. In this piece, I incorporated elements that evoke that peacefulness, while also introducing self-created plants—fictional botanical beings that represent characters within my imagined universe. Just as humans dominate Earth, these plants take on a similar role in my world. They symbolize a personal universe I’ve created—a place I long to escape to when reality feels overwhelming. This imagined space is both a refuge and a reflection of my inner state. Through this work, I aim to share a healing journey—one rooted in nature, imagination, and emotional restoration. Whispers of the Deep This painting is part of the "Whispers of the Serenity" series— a collection of dreamlike, poetic works exploring quietude, imagination, and inner worlds. In the clouds This series of works is all about the ever-changing cloud. Gazing into nature is my remedy for everything. Every time when I was exhausted or try to overcome my tension, I like to look up in the sky trying to capture something in it. When I look quite a while, my brain start to imagine some of the shape of the clouds. It seems there is another world in the sky.
