I am Cherry Matilda Roberts and I am a UAL LCF Graduate. I specialise in lingerie and body contoured garments and am heavily influenced by baroque styles and ornate textures. I have worked with brands such as Studio Pia in the production team to enhance my knowledge of working in a business and to better my skills producing luxury garments. I am inspired by crafted fabrics and my internship at F. Ciment Pleating allowed me to appreciate the art of fabric manipulation.

My BA final year collection for Fashion Contour is heavily inspired by baroque styles. My showcase I’ve chosen to exhibit is an amalgamation of sketchbook, portfolio and CAD work from my technical file. The focal point for my inspiration was textures symbolising class during the 16th - 19th century and how clothing shapes, textures and styles was an indication of social status. Throughout my collection ornate textures have been devised from architecture, furnishings and dress styles of the period. Each range is split into Exoria, Palatine and Sceptre which represents the exiled, the nobility and the royalty. Each fabric has been sourced to mirror the socioeconomic state of that group and the shapes and pleats highlight the level of status and power amongst that society.
