In a rapidly modernising world, traditional values are often overlooked by younger generations. As a young Vietnamese, I feel deeply inspired to explore the beauty of my country's cultural heritage and integrate these values into contemporary fashion design. Growing up in Vietnam, I have been immersed in a rich tapestry of traditional crafts from a young age, which has fueled my passion to pursue a design pathway.
Through my FMP project “Descendants of the Dragon,” I aim to promote and encourage the preservation of these crafts that are at risk of disappearing. Honouring and celebrating our heritage is essential, and I believe it is vital to pass on these traditions to future generations. Furthermore, Vietnam's breathtaking natural landscapes have always captivated me, motivating me to explore how I can incorporate the silhouettes and forms of these environments into my designs.
By translating traditional craftsmanship into modern fashion language, I aim to create a project that pays homage to our rich culture while still resonating with the young audience. This project serves as an important reminder for us to embrace innovation in the modern world while remaining anchored to our roots.
