Contemporary Gothic style exists as a simulacrum, endlessly replicated and transformed without an original source.
As a result, it is often reduced to mere aesthetic imagery, losing its philosophical depth.
To break free from this cycle, I explore the integration of Brutalism’s raw materiality and anti-decorative approach into Gothic fashion.
By incorporating elements such as cement-infused textiles, distressed leather, and exposed seams, I experiment with silhouettes and textures that merge Gothic sensibilities with Brutalist material honesty.
Moving beyond conventional Gothic ornamentation, this project seeks to reimagine Gothic not just as a style but as an evolving concept—one that reclaims its essence without falling into repetition.
