My final piece analyses the dynamics within parasitic relationships. The focus is on cause and effect, and the growth of the parasite at the expense of its host. The inspiration for the work stems from symbiosis in the natural world. However, the theme echoes destructive and devaluing human relationships. I have sought to portray a bulging parasite infiltrating, colonising and undermining a declining host. Its vibrant colours mimic those of toxic animals in the wild.
