# Project Description Exploring Transience and Connection Boyu Liu Summary Final work College Camberwell College of Arts Course MA Graphic Design Communication Graduation year 2024 Re-imagining Non-Space: Exploring Transience and Connection. The project uses the ephemeral as a lens for understanding movement and meaning. In the underground station, commuters are in a state of transition, with fleeting identities and unfixed locations. Exploring the dynamic interplay of space, place and non-place in the underground station as a non-place, and using its ephemerality as a cue to articulate neglected time. The project is divided into two parts: an interactive installation showing the connections in the underground station and a book defining and explaining the characteristics of the underground station as a non-place. With so much movement, and modernisation, more and more people think that this cycle of movement has been defaulted into the daily life of each individual. Most people default to the idea that this time should be consumed because the body is indeed on the move, but in the individual's perception and psyche this movement creates a gap in memory. It only makes people focus more on the destination rather than the timeline. Re-imagining Non-Space: Exploring Transience and Connection.
