Hi, I`m Bohao (Marcus) Feng, a visual designer and data storyteller from Guangzhou (Canton), China, currently based in London. I`m pursuing an MA in Design for Data Visualisation at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London (UAL), where my work focuses on socially engaged visual systems, health narratives, and critical mapping practices.During my undergraduate studies in Visual Communication Design at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA), I actively participated in student media, taking on leadership roles in visual production and promotional design. This experience deepened my interest in combining graphic communication with real-world storytelling, especially through collaborative and public-facing projects.Over the past few years, I`ve worked across event photography, motion design, and publication layout. I`m fluent in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, TouchDesigner, and climate-related data visualization platforms. My practice bridges Eastern and Western design perspectives and is driven by a commitment to using visual storytelling and data to explore topics like aging societies, collective health experiences, and emotional responses to social systems.

My project “The Other Side of Medicine“ is a Critical Data Visualisation Study of Pharmaceutical Narratives in Contemporary United Kingdom,” explores how everyday medicines shape the medicalised body. Presented as a cabinet installation and a publication of eleven folded monographs, the work reinterprets clinical data through visual design, exposing the tensions between relief and dependence. By transforming statistical evidence into tactile and narrative artefacts, it reframes medicine as a lived negotiation between bodies, institutions, and data—positioning data visualisation as a critical bridge between science, care, and culture.
