# Project Description Caravan of Conversation ARISTIDES METTAS Summary Final work College Central Saint Martins Course M ARCH: Architecture Graduation year 2025 Fifty years after the division of Cyprus, negotiations between its two political entities remain stagnant. Despite open checkpoints, few young Cypriots cross the Green Line. Raised within nationalist narratives, many grow up disconnected from the island’s northern half – its land, its people, its histories – just as those in the north have become estranged from the south. “I do not forget” – the slogan that has long marked public school textbooks in Cyprus has, ironically, become an alibi for forgetting. My project responds to this context, using as a method that sense of cultural identity that can only come from living more profoundly within the geography of a place to bring together Cyprus’s divided communities. I have designed a mobile space for dialogue, a travelling architecture that brings people together through craft, food, and storytelling. It is a spatial and symbolic act of peacebuilding.
